Sivakarthikeyan’s Maaveeran begins filming

Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film titled Maaveeran officially begins production. The makers kickstarted the project with a ritual ceremony in Chennai yesterday. Maaveeran has Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar in the lead while Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin is directing it. The film is produced by Arun Viswa under his banner Shanthi Talkies, who is also co-producing Sivakarthiyean’s other upcoming project titled Prince.

Bharath Shankar, who previously collaborated with director Ashwin in Mandela, is composing music for the film while Philomin Raj, who turned heads with his work in Vikram(2022), is roped in as the editor. Stunt director Yannick Ben, known for his work in Family Man, is also attached to the project. 

The Maaveeran crew recently gave us the first glimpse into the film through a creative promo video. Sivakarthikeyan’s look in the film along with subtle hints about the plot and setting were revealed through the promo. Aditi Shankar, daughter of prolific filmmaker Shankar, was announced as the female lead right as her debut film Viruman is gearing up for release. The rest of the cast and details regarding the trailer release and release dates are yet to be announced.
