Rumours are going rounds that Deepika Padukone, who was last seen in Gehraiyaan, will reportedly join the cast of the Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2.

Directed by Shankar, the upcoming film is a sequel to the 1996 film Indian. According to reports, the production house is willing to pay Deepika a huge salary for the sequel. However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.

Recently, it was also reported that the long-pending shoot will resume in September. Earlier, Udhayanidhi Stalin confirmed that works for the film will be restarted by Lyca Productions soon.

The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Siddarth, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in prominent roles. Indian 2 has music by Anirudh Ravichander, who will be collaborating with Kamal for the second time after Vikram.
