Actor Silambarasan has resumed shooting for his upcoming film Pathu Thala, the actor took to social media to announce the same, on Monday, while sharing a few stills.

“Shooting in progress….” the actor wrote.

Pathu Thala is jointly produced by Jayantilal Gada and KE Gnanavelraja, The film is the official remake of the 2017 Kannada film, Mufti. The original starred Shivarajkumar and Sriimurali as the leads. In the Tamil version, Simbu is reprising Shivarajkumar's role. He is essaying the role of gangster the film.

Obeli N Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal-fame is directing Pathu Thala. The film stars Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kalaiyarasan, and Teejay Arunasalam will be seen in supporting roles. It has music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Farook J Basha. Praveen KL handles the edits.

Meanwhile, Simbu has the Gautham Vasudev Menon directorial Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu slated to hit screens on September 15.
