Manithaneya Makkal Katchi calls for a ban on Vijay's Beast

CE Features

Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) President MH Jawahirullah has urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to ban actor Vijay's latest release Beast as it demeans the Muslim community as a whole.
The MMK is an ally of the ruling DMK.

Citing the ban on the film in Kuwait and Qatar, Jawahirullah said the Muslim community braving the natural calamity and the Covid-19 pandemic had rendered yeoman service, but Beast demeans them and has the possibility of creating a law and order situation in the state.

According to him, films like Viswaroopam, and Thupakki had demeaned the Muslim community, and after a lull in production of such films, now Beast as given life to such a film genre.

Written and directed by Nelson, Beast is an invasion thriller in which Vijay plays a RAW agent named Veera Raghavan. The film also stars Selvaraghavan, Shine Tom Chacko, Aparna Das, Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley. It is produced by Sun Pictures.
