Malayalam actor Siddique is said to be playing the main antagonist in Simbu's new film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, directed by Gautham Menon.

The veteran has previously acted in Tamil films like Rangoon, Jana, and Bhaskar Oru Rascal.

In a recent media interaction, Siddique revealed that Gautham Menon called him up after being impressed with his performance in the Malayalam film Sufiyum Sujathayum.

Siddique added that he is playing a Malayali character named Kunjukrishnan in the film, which tells the story of street thugs in Mumbai. Siddique shot for his portions in sets erected in Chennai. Interestingly, he has still not had a combination scene with Simbu.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu has Radikaa Sarathkumar in a prominent character. Kannada actor Kayadu Lohar is widely speculated to be playing the female lead. An official confirmation is awaited from the production side about the cast.

The story for this action film is written by Jeyamohan. The film is touted to be different from Gautham Menon's previous films and is said to be inspired by the author's story Agni Konjondru Kanden.

Produced by Ishari Ganesh under his banner Vels Films International, the film has music by AR Rahman.
