Karthi wraps up his portion for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan

Actor Karthi took to Twitter to announce that he has wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming film with Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan. The actor is playing the role of Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan in the film adaptation of the epic novel Ponniyin Selvan, written by Amarar Kalki. 

Hinting at the film's plotline, Karthi wrote, "Princess Trisha, your order has been executed. Prince Jayam Ravi, my job is also done." 
Trisha is playing the role of princess Kundavai, and Jayam Ravi will be seen as prince Arulmozhi Varman. 

The film, which is bankrolled by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, is being made in two parts and sports an ensemble cast comprising stars like Aishwarya Bachchan, Vikram, Jayaram, Parthiban, and Sarathkumar in prominent roles. AR Rahman is composing the music for the film. The film is expected to release in 2022.
