GV Prakash is teaming up with debutant filmmaker Mathi Maran for a new film titled Selfie. Its first look poster has been released. Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon is playing the antagonist role in the film and the first look features both him and GV Prakash.

Mathi Maran is an erstwhile assistant of Vetri Maaran. The film is an action thriller, which will look at the off-campus life of an engineering student for four years. In the first look, Gautham Menon is seen walking along with a few people amidst a college backdrop. The film's tagline reads, "Confessions of an Engineer." Kalaippuli S Thanu is producing it under his banner V Creations.

Along with sharing the first look, GV Prakash tweeted that he is delighted to work with veteran producer Kalaippuli S Thanu for the first time as a lead actor.

Selfie also stars Bigil fame Varsha Bollamma, Thangadurai, and Vagai Chandrasekhar. Vishnu Rangasamy is handling the film's cinematography and editing is done by S Ilayaraja.
