Suriya, who is currently working on Pandiraj's Etharkkum Thunindhavan, was supposed to begin shooting for the Vetri Maaran directorial Vaadi Vaasal next. But latest reports suggest that he is planning to team up with Ravikumar of Indru Netru Naalai fame for a sci-fi film. Reportedly, pre-production works for the project are already underway and the actor is expected to work on this film before starting Vaadi Vaasal. An official announcement is expected to be out soon. Dream Warrior Pictures is most likely to produce the film. 

Meanwhile, Ravikumar's Ayalaan starring Sivakarthikeyan is still awaiting release. The film, which is also billed as sci-fi, has Rakul Preet, Isha Koppikar, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu, and Karunakaran in supporting roles. With cinematography by Nirav Shah and stunts by Anbariv, the project is bankrolled by 24 AM Studios and KJR Studios.
