We had earlier reported that Dhanush-Selvaraghavan's upcoming collaboration, Naane Varuven, went on floors in October. Right from the time of its announcement, the project became one of the most-hyped films because the talented brothers last worked in a film together in 2011 (Mayakkam Enna).

Naane Varuven marks the fifth collaboration between Dhanush and Selvaraghavan after Thulluvadho Ilamai, Kaadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai, and Mayakkam Enna.

Taking a leaf out of their most celebrated collaboration, Pudhupettai, Selvaraghavan took to Instagram to share inside information that the makers were planning to use handheld cameras to shoot the film. He wrote, "After 18 years (Pudhupettai), where I've done few handheld shots, going on complete handheld film in #NaaneVaruven. Trying my frames with Yamini Yagnamurthy." 

Initially, Selvaraghavan's long-time collaborator Aravind Krishna was roped in as the cinematographer, but he was later replaced with Yamini. Incidentally, Yamini worked as the cinematographer in Selvaraghavan's acting venture, Saani Kaayidham, which also stars Keerthy Suresh.

Backed by Kalaipuli S Thanu, Naane Varuven will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film also stars Indhuja in a pivotal role. 

Meanwhile, Dhanush's upcoming releases include the Hindi film, Atrangi Re, an untitled film with Karthick Naren's Maaran, and the Mithran Jawahar directorial, Thiruchitrambalam.
