On the occasion of Nayanthara's birthday today, director Ashwin Saravanan has announced his next starring the actor. Titled Connect, the film marks the return of Anupam Kher to Tamil cinema. He was last seen in 2007's Kuttrapathrikkai, playing Rajiv Gandhi.

The film, also starring Sathyaraj, is bankrolled by Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures. Notably, Sathyaraj and Nayanthara had previously played father and daughter in Atlee's Raja Rani

It may also be noted that Ashwin's debut Maaya starred Nayanthara in the lead.

The first look poster of Connect features Nayanthara drawing a cross symbol on the wall using holy water. The title tease poster, which was released yesterday showed a Bible and a rosary. From the elements revealed to us, it can be understood that the film will belong to Ashwin's strong zone: Horror. There is no official word on the plotline of the film yet.

The second look shows a mysterious Haniya Nafisa standing near the window of a room filled with inverse cross symbols, denoting anti-christ. The font on the poster reads,"The devil doesn't leave quitely."

Connect has music by Prithvi Chandrasekhar of Boomika fame and cinematography by Manikantan Ramachary.

Apart from this film, Ashwin has a film starring Samantha in the lineup. Nayanthara on the other hand, was recently seen in Annaatthe, and she has Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal and Gold in various stages of production.
