Suriya gets armed security after legal notice over Jai Bhim scene

A Pattali Makkal Katchi leader has announced Rs 1 lakh for anyone who attacks the actor

Armed security personal are assigned to guard Suriya after a Pattali Makkal Katchi leader named Palanisamy announced that he would offer Rs 1 lakh for anyone who attacks the actor. The police have arrested Palanisamy under five sections of which two are non-bailable.

Vanniyar community is outraging against Suriya's latest film Jai Bhim for allegedly portraying them in a bad light. A particular scene featuring the community's calendar has come under fire. The scene was eventually replaced by the makers.

Even after the removal of the scene, Dr. Ramadoss, the leader of Pattali Makkal Katchi, issued a statement condemning the film and the actor. A legal case was also filed against the film demanding a compensation of Rs 5 crore. 

Meanwhile, fans and many celebrities of Tamil cinema have come out in support of Suriya. The hashtag #WeStandWithSuriya was trending on social media.
