Actor Santhanam met the press today as a part of the promotions for his upcoming film, Sabhaapathy. When asked about his stand on the ongoing tussle between PMK and Suriya, over the portrayal of Vanniyar community in the film, he said, "It isn't right to show a group of people in a bad light to glorify others." He made it sound ambiguous, as he didn't clearly specify that his statement is aimed at Jai Bhim nor did he confirm his support for the PMK party's legal war.

When further questioned about the "I Stand With Suriya" hashtags on social media, he said that he is unaware of the current trends as he was held up with work.

Notably, Santhanam has acted alongside Suriya in films like Sillunu Oru Kadhal and Singam 2. The Dikiloona actor is considered to be an ally of PMK as he has expressed his admiration towards the party's leader Dr S Ramadoss.

Apart from Santhanam, the entire cast and crew including debut director Srinivasa Rao, female lead Preethi Verma, actors MS Bhaskar and Pugazh, were present at Sabhaapathy Press meet. The film hits the silver screens on 19th November.
