Suriya pays his last respects at Puneeth Rajkumar's memorial

Actor Suriya visited the memorial of Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, who passed away on 29 October due to sudden cardiac arrest. Many video clips and pictures of Suriya breaking down at the memorial are making the rounds on social media. 

Speaking to the media, the Jai Bhim actor said, "It's unfair. I am still unable to accept what has happened. My family and Shivaraj anna family are close and fond of each other." He added, "He is smiling in all the photos. I only keep hearing about all the good deeds he has done to society and the people around him. We will hold on to the memories. We will not let go of that. I pray for more strength for his family, his daughters, fans, and all the Kannadigas"

The untimely death of the 46-year-old actor sent shockwaves across the country. Celebrities across India from different film industries have expressed their shock and condolences for the death of the Kannada actor. 

Puneeth is the son of legendary actor Rajkumar and Parvathamma. Starting his career as a child artist at a very young age, he went on to win the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his performance in Bettada Hoovu in 1985. He also won the Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist for his performances in Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu

In a career spanning two decades as a hero, the actor, fondly called Appu and Powestar, acted in several successful films and had one of the largest fanbases in the Kannada film industry.
