Singer Manikka Vinayagam passed away

Manikka Vinayagam, a renowned Tamil playback singer, passed away today

Singer Manikka Vinayagam, who made his debut as a playback singer with the song Kannukulla Kelathi from Vikram's Dhill, has passed away due to heart-related complications. He was 78. 

The singer was undergoing treatment for a while now. He passed away at his home due to a heart attack, according to a Tamil daily. 

Chief Minister MK Stalin will be attending the funeral tomorrow morning. Many actors and celebrities have expressed their condolences on social media. 

Manikka Vinayagam has sung about 800 songs including hits like Manmadha Rasa (Thiruda Thirudi), Subbamma Subbamma (Roja Kootam), and Kattu Kattu (Thirupachi). He is also known for his folk and devotional songs. 

The departed has also acted in films like Thiruda Thirudi, Vettaikaran, Santosh Subramaniam, and Perazhagan
