Y Not Studios announced its next film on December 22. The production company announced on Twitter and also released the title of their next film as Thalaikoothal. The film is to be helmed by Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan. 

He is known for his critically acclaimed-film Lens, and before that, he also worked on The Mosquito Philosophy. The film stars P Samuthirakani, Kathir, and Vasundhara in lead roles. It started the shoot on December 22, after an auspicious ceremony was held. 

On the other hand, Samuthirankani is looking forward to the release of Writer, directed by Franklin Jacob. He plays the role of a cop in the film slated to be released on December 24. Kathir, meanwhile, is working on the film titled Yuki which is a bilingual film to be released in Tamil and Malayalam. This film is helmed by debutant filmmaker Zac Harriss. 

Vasundhara is well-known for her notable performance in the 2019 film Bakrid. She also worked in Peranmai, Poraali and Thenmerku Paruva Kaatru.
