Actor Jayam Ravi has completed shooting for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. He made the announcement through his official Twitter account. Ravi started the thread of tweets talking about his journey with Mani Ratnam. "Watching you lead this magnum opus with utmost perfection whilst imparting so much knowledge around, has been an experience of a lifetime sir," he wrote.

Addressing himself as PS (Ponniyin Selvan), he added that he misses being on the sets and looks forward to joining hands with the director again.

Ponniyin Selvan, which will be released in two parts, stars Karthi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram Prabhu, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram, Lal, Sarath Kumar, and Ashwin Kakamanu. It is produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.

The duology will see Mani Ratnam collaborate once more with ace composer AR Rahman and cinematographer by Ravi Varman.

Apart from this franchise, Ravi has Ahmed's spy thriller, Jana Gana Mana, co-starring Taapsee and Dayana Erappa and one more film with the director. He had announced a while ago that he would be returning to play Mithran in his brother Mohan Raja's Thani Oruvan 2.
