Fresh from the success of Sarpatta Parambarai, actor Pasupathy has signed a new project that will be directed by first-time filmmaker Ram Sangaiah. Touted to be a rural comedy-action film, the makers launched the film on Thursday.

A source close to the film says, "The film will be a family entertainer. Apart from the primary cast, the makers are planning on roping in more actors and the selection process is currently underway. The film will go on floors from next month in Ramanathapuram."

The untitled project, also starring Rohini, Ammu Abirami and Mayilsami, is bankrolled by S Lakshman Kumar of Prince Pictures, who is currently producing the Karthi-starrer Sardar. 8 Thottakkal-fame KS Sundaramurthy is handling the music for the project while Mahesh Muthuswami, who had previously collaborated with Pasupathy in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, is in charge of cinematography.
