Actor Siddharth took to social media to share details of the harassment he has been receiving at the hands of the Tamil Nadu BJP's IT Cell.

In a series of tweets, Siddharth said that his phone number was leaked by members of TN BJP, and he subsequently received calls of abuse, rape, and death threats directed at him and his family members.

"My phone number was leaked by members of TN BJP and BJP TN IT Cell. Over 500 calls of abuse, rape and death threats to me & family for over 24 hrs. All numbers recorded (with BJP links and DPs) and handing over to Police. I will not shut up. Keep trying."

Sharing screenshots of a social media post that instigated such targetted harassment against him, Siddharth said, "This is one of many social media posts by BJP TN members leaking my number yesterday and telling people to attack and harass me. We might survive Covid. Will we survive these people?"

Siddharth is known for voicing his criticism against the BJP government on key issues including their handling of the COVID-19 crisis and vaccination drive.
