A lot of recent developments be it the trend of web series or be it the emergence of digital platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime or others point in this dierction. But how helpful are these lastest tools with regards to supporting the dreams of budding directors and aspiring techinicians?

Nirmal Janarthanan, who works as an assistant director under M Anbazhagan of Sattai fame says, "When we want our short films to gain a better reach, then social media plays a big role in that. The confidence we earn through the positive response helps us to apply for short film festivals, which help us with finding a source to pitch our scripts"

K Devabalan, ad filmmaker and CEO of Bright Ray productions, states that, "Social media has become more than a popular platform to deliver engaging content. The short videos and content that we present leave a long lasting imapct in the minds of the viewers, thus creating an unique brand of recognisable individuality. It has become a platform  that helps us equate the works of a person to the person themselves and does that at minimal cost"
