The final season of Netflix's popular Spanish series, Money Heist, is set to release in two installments, comprising five episodes each. The first volume of episodes will start streaming from September 3, while the second volume will hit the web space on December 3, the makers announced.

In an official statement, Alex Pina, the creator of the series, says, "When we began to write part five in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself."

Originally titled La casa de papel, the heist-thriller witnessed a major impetus in viewership post the release of part three in 2019, gaining cult-following across the globe, and subsequently topped the charts of the streaming platform.

Speaking of how they treated the finale of the beloved series, Pina adds, "In Volume Two, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”

The series stars UIrsula Corbero, Alvaro Morte, Itziar Ituno, Pedro Alonso, Paco Tous, Alba Flores, Miguel Herran, Jaime Lorente, and Esther Acebo, among others.
