The upcoming Tamil film Lift will skip theatres and premiere on a streaming platform. The film stars Bigg Boss-fame Kavin and Amritha Aiyer, who was recently seen in Vanakkam Da Mappilei, in the lead roles. Although the makers of the film are yet to officially announce the news, sources close to the film confirmed that a straight-to-streaming release is on cards.

According to sources, the makers have opted for an OTT release on the back of the prevailing uncertainty with respect to the operation of theatres across the nation. The makers are expected to announce the release date and the streaming platform shortly.

Billed as a thriller, the film is directed by Vineeth Varaprasad and has cinematography by S Yuva, whose notable works include Teddy and Raja Ranguski. A song from the film, Inna Mylu, sung by actor Sivakarthikeyan has clocked in over five million views on YouTube.

Presented by Libra Productions, the Ekaa Entertainment-produced film has music by Britto Michael.
