The makers of Velan, starring Bigg Boss-fame Mugen, have unveiled a new poster of the film. The colourful poster exudes festive vibes and features a veshti-clad Mugen at the center of a rural carnival. Directed by Kavin Moorthy, the will have Mugen appear in dual looks, one as a high-school student and the other as a college-going youth.

Billed as a family entertainer, Velan is the story of a Tamil boy and a Malayalam girl falling in love. The film, which stars Meenakshi Govindharaj as the female lead, also stars Soori, Joe Malloori, Billy Murali, Thambi Ramaiah, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TM Karthik, Prankster Rahul, and Brigida Saga.
