Akshay Kumar has addressed rumours that Sooryavanshi and Bell Bottom will release on Independence Day. A recent report claimed that both films are headed for an August 15 release. Additionally, it was claimed that Bell Bottom will premiere digitally on Amazon Prime Video, while Sooryavanshi will head to theatres.
Putting the rumours to rest, Akshay said in a statement, “‘I’m humbled at the excitement and eagerness of my fans regarding the release of Sooryavanshi and Bell Bottom, and want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for all their love. However, at this point, it is purely speculative to say that both films will release on Independence Day. The producers of both films are working out the release dates and will make announcements at the right time.”
Sooryavanshi has missed multiple release dates since last year. The film was set to release on April 30 this year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 spike. The action drama has been indefinitely delayed for the moment.
Meanwhile, in a former statement, Bell Bottom’s producers had urged the press to not speculate on the film’s release plan.
