Tollywood playback singer Jai Srinivas passed away due to Covid-19 on Friday. Affected by the virus a few days ago, Srinivas died due to low oxygen levels at a private hospital in Secunderabad, say reports. Srinivas is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Born as Neredukomma Srinivas in Mandamarri of the erstwhile Adilabad district, Srinivas was passionate about cinema from a young age. He became a breakout singer in the Telugu film industry after his song Desam Manade from Jai became a chartbuster. Besides Jai, Srinivas had also lent his voice for several songs in films like Raja Rani and Vidhi among others. 

Srinivas had also sung and released several devotional, patriotic, and folk albums thus expanding his repertory in music.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed deep condolences over the death of Srinivas.
