Allu Arjun's pan-Indian film, Pushpa, will be released in two parts. The news had been doing rounds on the internet for a while and has now been confirmed officially by the film's production house Mythri Movie Makers.

The team has stated that the decision was made because of the expansive storyline. Producers Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, in a statement, said, "The storyline and the characters took on lives of their own and grew to a span that required the movie to be released in two parts."

They added that the response to the Introduction To Pushpa Raj video encouraged them to go ahead with the call. "We have the best stars, artists and technicians aboard and we hope to give the audience a memorable experience in the theatres through this story."

The film's shooting was halted recently after Allu Arjun tested positive for COVID-19. With a portion of the film left to be shot, Pushpa: Part 1 is slated for release on August 13 this year. The second part of the frranchise has been announced as a 2022 release.

Also featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj in pivotal roles, Pushpa has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The Sukumar directorial will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
