Yamakinkarudu composer Chandra Sekhar succumbs to COVID-19

Veteran music composer Chandra Sekhar passed away today due to Covid-19 related complications, his nephew said.

The 72-year-old composer, who scored the music for over 30 films, including Chiranjeevi-starrer Yamakinkarudu, Rajinikanth's Brahma Mudi, Bhola Shankarudu, Aatma Bandhuvulu, Udayam, and Adigo Alladigo, was born in Raayalam village, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.

He started his career as an associate to renowned film composers Chakravarthy, Ramesh Naidu, and Laxmikant-Pyarelal. 

Popular music composers Koti, MM Keeravani, and Mani Sharma were his disciples.

After quitting the industry, Chandra Sekhar had settled down in Visakhapatnam and had recently retired as a Grade-1 music composer with the All India Radio.
