Kotapadi J Rajesh, the producer of Sivakarthikeyan's Doctor, has released a statement on Twitter asking fans to wait for the release update. 

He wrote, "As a producer, I'm bearing all the financial and material constraints caused by Covid-19 with a fully-ready film in hand. I'm doing everything within my power to get the film the right release." 

Rajesh went on to add that it isn't right to talk about something like Doctor's release when people are losing their loved ones. "At a time like this, where nothing is certain, I do not want to talk about something celebratory like Doctor release."

Doctor was slated to hit the theatres on Eid. However, the film has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Nelson directorial also stars Priyanka Mohan, Yogi Babu and Vinay. The songs of Doctor, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, have been topping the charts.
