Hollywood actor Dave Bautista has joined the sequel of the hit mystery film, Knives Out. As of now, the only other cast member confirmed for the sequel is Daniel Craig, who is set to reprise his role as private detective Benoit Blanc from the first instalment.

Though plot details are under wraps, Deadline reports that the project will enlist another A-list actor. It is unclear at present if any other actor from the original movie will be returning for the sequel.

Directed by Rian Johnson, Knives Out had a large star cast that included Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Toni Collette and Ana de Armas. It centered on a fabulously wealthy family in the aftermath of the death of their patriarch, renowned author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer).

Knives Out was produced by Media Rights Capital and distributed by Lionsgate. The film earned more than $300 million worldwide.

In March this year, Netflix bought the rights to Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3 for $468 million.

Rian Johnson is returning to direct the sequel, with production set to start in Greece this summer. The project reunites Bautista and Craig after the 2015 James Bond film Spectre. 

Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is also teaming up with Netflix on Zack Snyder’s zombie thriller Army of the Dead. His upcoming films include Denis Villeneuve’s Dune remake, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
