Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, best known for his roles in UndaIshq: Not a Love Story, and Love, is set to join the cast of the upcoming Vijay-starrer, tentatively called Thalapathy 65. The actor confirmed the news in a recent interview.

Directed by Nelson Dileepkumar, the film marks Shine’s first Tamil project. Interestingly, Thalapathy 65 also marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actor Aparna Das, best known for Njan Prakashan.

The shooting of the film began in Georgia in April, where the team reportedly shot action sequences choreographed by action director-duo Anbariv.

Thalapathy 65 features Pooja Hegde as the female lead, marking her return to Tamil cinema after the Mysskin's Mugamoodi in 2012. Bigg Boss-fame Kavin, who was present at the film’s launch event, is also part of the cast.

Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Thalapathy 65 has music by Anirudh and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa.

Meanwhile, Nelson’s sophomore film Doctor, starring Sivakarthikeyan, is currently awaiting release.
