Panorama Studios International has snapped up the Hindi remake rights of the Malayalam hit film Drishyam 2: The Resumption.

Drishyam, starring Mohanlal, has been remade in a record number of languages, including in Hindi in 2015. After the success of the sequel, Drishyam 2: The Resumption, the production house is all set to create a Hindi version of it.

Kumar Mangat Pathak from Panorama Studio International says, "With the huge success of Drishyam 2, the story needs to be told with passion and commitment, and we as producers are committed to that."

Set six years after the events of the original, Drishyam 2 follows Georgekutty trying to shield his family from the aftermath of that fateful night. The film is currently being remade in Telugu by the original's director, Jeethu Joseph.

Talking about the Hindi acquisition, Malayalam producer Antony Perumbavoor says, “We are happy that Panorama Studios International has acquired the rights for Drishyam 2 and I am certain the production house will do justice to the film."

Director Jeethu Joseph shares, “The story of Drishyam 2 resonated with people and I am so glad that Panorama Studios will make it reach a wider audience with the Hindi remake. I am looking forward to it.”

The Hindi version of Drishyam starred Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran. The casting details of the Drishyam 2 remake are yet to be announced. Drishyam 2's Telugu remake, starring Venkatesh and Meena, has recently been wrapped up.
