Recent reports online speculated that filmmaker Desingh Periyasamy, best known for directing the Dulquer Salmaan starrer-Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, would be directing Rajinikanth's next. Desingh, who was appreciated by Rajini after the success of his debut film, took to Twitter to clear the air.

He wrote, "The news which is spreading about my next film is not true. Will update you soon. Thanks for the love and support. Stay safe and take care."

Desingh's next project is yet to be officially announced. It is speculated that he might be teaming up with Sivakarthikeyan for his sophomore project.

Rajinikanth is currently shooting for director Siva's Annatthe. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film also stars Nayantara, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, and Khushboo. Sources close to the actor state that Rajini might team up once again with Sun Pictures for another film, although there is no official confirmation on this.
