Speculations were rife that the release of director Sekhar Kammula's upcoming romantic entertainer Love Story might be pushed by two weeks due to a steep rise in Covid-19 cases in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was also speculated that Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab, which is hitting the screens on April 9, might eat into the revenues of Love Story and this would compel the makers of the Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi-starrer to reschedule the film to the last week of April.

Putting rest to all these rumours, the production house of the film, Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP has clarified that the film is on track for release on April 16.

Love Story traces the journey of two individuals — played by Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi — who relocate to Hyderabad from their village to pursue their dreams. Chaitanya, who plays a middle-class young man, has picked up the Telangana dialect for his part.

Also featuring Easwari Rao, Devayani and Rajeev Kanakala in supporting roles, Love Story has music by Pawan CH. Four singles from the film have been released and have taken social media by storm to become the top-trending videos on YouTube.
