Dhanush has finished shooting for filmmaker Aanand L Rai's upcoming film, Atrangi Re. The actor took to Instagram to share a picture with Aanand and the film's writer, Himanshu Sharma. 

"Atrangi Re wrapped. Thank you, Aanand and Himanshu. Love you both," Dhanush captioned the photo.

Atrangi Re reunites Dhanush, the director, and the writer after their 2013 hit Raanjhanaa.

The film also stars Sara Ali Khan, and features Akshay Kumar in a 'special role'. 

Atrangi Re is said to follow two parallel narratives from different timelines, with Sara supposedly playing a double role. 

The film went on floors last March before the COVID-19 pandemic, which later halted production. The shooting resumed in Madurai last October, followed by a schedule in Delhi.

With music by AR Rahman, Atrangi Re is set to hit screens on August 6.

Notably, last week, Dhanush was named a joint winner of the Best Actor National Film Award for his performance in Asuran.
