67th National Film Awards: Dhanush wins second National Award; Asuran wins Best Tamil Film award

67th National Film Awards for the year 2019 were announced today by the Directorate of Films Festivals, which comes under the ambit of the Ministry of Information And Broadcasting. 

Dhanush has won the Best Actor award (shared) for his performance in Asuran while the film has bagged the Best Tamil Film Award for the year 2019. Asuran was directed by Vetri Maaran and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.

This marks the second National Award for Dhanush, who has earlier won it for the film Aadukalam (2011), which was, incidentally, also directed by Vetri Maaran.

Asuran, based on the Tamil novel Vekkai by Poomani, was also among the ten films, which were screen at 76th Golden Globes. 

Other than Dhanush, Asuran also features Manju Warrier, Ken Karunas, Prakash Raj, and Pasupathi. The film has music by GV Prakash.
