Tamil actor Karthik has been hospitalised after reportedly suffering from breathlessness. The veteran actor, who has starred in more than 125 films, is currently under observation in a private hospital in Chennai. A source close to the actor has stated that Karthik, who is admitted to ICU, has tested negative for COVID-19. 

Karthik, who is also an active politician, had only organised a press meet yesterday when he announced which party he will be supporting for the upcoming Tamil Nadu General Elections. It was during campaigning last night when he had fallen sick. The source has also confirmed that Karthik is currently in a stable condition. 

The veteran actor, who has been occasionally doing supporting roles in films. will next be seen in Prashanth's Andhagan, the Tamil remake of Andhadhun.
