We had earlier reported that AR Rahman was appearing in a pivotal role in Mohanlal-B Unnikrishnan's Aaraattu. Today, the actor took to social media to share a photo from the sets of the film featuring himself alongside the director and Rahman.

Also starring Shraddha Srinath in the lead, Aaraattu is written by Udayakrishna and has music by Rahul Raj. With Vijay Ulaganath taking care of the cinematography, Shammeer Muhammed is onboard as the editor.

This cameo in Aaraattu marks Rahman's first collaboration with Mohanlal in a Malayalam film after 29 years. With the announcement of Rahman's involvement, Aaraattu will mark the first collaboration of the musician with Mohanlal after Yodha (1992).

The film has an ensemble cast including actors like Nedumudi Venu, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, Johny Antony, Sheela, Rachana Narayanankutty and Swasika.

Backed by B Unnikrishnan's RD Illuminations, Aaraattu is co-produced by Sajeesh Manjery.
