The release date of Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been pushed to September. The film is the sequel to 2018's Venom, which garnered over $850 million worldwide.

The success of the first film led to the sequel, which will continue the story of Eddie Brock/Venom, played by Tom Hardy, and brings in the highly-anticipated symbiotic villain of the Spiderman universe, Carnage. Woody Harrelson is all set to play Carnage in the film, and the character is said to play a central role in the film, as hinted at in the title. 

Venom: Let There Be Carnage was earlier expected to hit theatres on June 25, but now Sony has announced that the film will be out on September 17 instead. The delay is reportedly due to the scheduling of films that are releasing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is not the first time the release date of the Venom sequel is being pushed. The original release date that was planned prior to the pandemic was in October 2020. The film was then set to come out on June 25, 2021, which has now been further delayed by two months.
