A new Hourman movie is in development at Warner Bros and DC Films. This is the latest addition to the dozens of DC films that are currently in various stages of production.

With The Suicide Squad slated for a release later this year, the following year will see the release of films like The Batman, The Flash, and Aquaman 2.

Other films like Shazam: Fury of the Gods, Black Adam, and Blue Beetle are also in production.

According to a report from Deadline, Hourman will be written by Gavin James and Neil Widener (San Andreas 2 and Now You See Me 3), and jointly produced by Chernin Entertainment and Warner Bros.

In the comics, the character of Hourman is known as Rex Tyler, a chemist who creates a synthesis that gives him some superpowers for one hour only. Rex's son, Rick Tyler, later took over the mantle.

This isn't the first time that a live-action Hourman project is in talks at DC. Earlier, there were reports of a Hourman show in the Arrowverse. However, the plans never came to fruition.

The most well-known live-action portrayals of the characters are by Patrick J Adams (in two episodes of Legends of Tomorrow) and Lou Ferrigno Jr and Cameron Gellman (who played Rex and Rick in Stargirl).
