Actor Benedict Cumberbatch will star in the World War II-film, War Magician, that will be directed by Jurassic World 3 director Colin Trevorrow.

Deadline reports that War Magician, which is based on a book by David Fisher, will revolve around Jasper Maskelyne, a British illusionist who used magic to defeat Erwin Rommel in World War II.

Additionally, the film narrates how an international "magic gang" from Africa, Europe, and the Middle East conspired with Maskelyne and a female military intelligence officer to defeat the Nazis in the war.

Meanwhile, Cumberbatch is awaiting the release of The Courier, which is slated to hit screens this Friday. His other upcoming films include Prisoner 760The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, and The Power of the Dog, all of which are in various stages of production.

Cumberbatch will also reprise his role as Dr Stephen Strange in Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
