We had earlier reported that a biopic is in the works on Tamil Nadu-born track-and-field athlete Santhi Soundarajan. While details about the cast are still under wraps, there were speculations that Aishwarya Rajesh would play the titular role. However, the actor's PR has refuted such claims. 

The statement from the actor's team said, "Actor Aishwarya Rajesh is not playing the lead in the biopic of athlete Santhi Soundarajan. Please do not believe any such rumours."

The upcoming film, named after the athlete, will be written and directed by Jayaseelan Dhavaputhalvi and produced by 888 Productions.

Talking about the film, the makers earlier said, "Three persons have been selected to play the role of Santhi Soundarajan. The heroine will be announced on Tamil New Year's day in April."

Ghibran is handling the music for this film that will have sound design by Resul Pookutty. Lyrics will be penned by Yuga Bharathi, while Pon Parthiban provides the dialogues.
