Even as Aamir Khan, who turned 56 yesterday, responded to wishes from celebrities and colleagues, the Dhoom 3 actor revealed that today was to be his last day on social media.

In a statement, Aamir, said, "Hey guys, thank you so much for all the love and warmth on my birthday. My heart is full. In other news, this is going to be my last post on social media. Considering that I am so active anyway, I have decided to drop the pretense. We will continue to communicate as we did before. In addition, AKP has created its official channel! So future updates on me and my films can be found there. Here's the official handle @akppl_official. Lots of love, always."

Meanwhile, the actor will next be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, an official remake of Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump. He is set to wrap up the final schedule of the Advait Chandan directorial in Kargil once the conditions improve for a smooth filming schedule.

The film, which is backed by the actor's home banner, Aamir Khan Productions, and Viacom Studios, is set for release this Christmas.
