The CW have roped in director Maggie Kiley to work on the live-action version of The Powerpuff Girls. She is set to direct the pilot episode of the series, which will feature the adult versions of the three superheroes — Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup — created by Craig McCracken.

It is reported that this version of The Powerpuff Girls will be about disillusioned twenty-somethings who resent losing their childhood to crime fighting.

Kiley, a regular at The CW, has previously worked on shows like Riverdale, Katy Keene, and the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

The Powerpuff Girls project will be written by Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody, who also double up as the executive producers alongside Sarah Schechter and David Madden. Warner Bros will produce this project.
