We had earlier reported that debutant Ratheena Sharshadh would direct Mammootty. The latest update is that Parvathy Thiruvothu has joined the film titled Puzhu. The title poster was launched today on the occasion of Women's Day.

Dulquer's Wayfarer Films and S George's Cyn-Cyl Celluloid are bankrolling this project. The former will also distribute the film, thus marking the first collaboration of Mammootty and Dulquer.

Puzhu also sees Mammootty and Parvathy teaming up for the first time. It has a script by Harshad (Unda-fame) and the Sharfu-Suhas duo (Varathan) from a story by Harshad.

Ratheena, who has worked with filmmakers like Revathy Asha Kelunni and as the executive producer of the Parvathy-starrer Uyare, is the latest name in the long list of debutant filmmakers launched by Mammootty. The film is expected to be released in multiple languages.

Theni Eshwar, the celebrated cinematographer who has been part of movies like Peranbu, Karnan, and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, is the director of photography. Jakes Bejoy will handle the music, and Deepu Joseph, the editing. Manu Jagadh (Baahubali, Minnal Murali) is in charge of the art department.

Vishnu Govind and Sreeshankar will work on the sound design. The film is set to go on floors soon.

Meanwhile, Parvathy has three releases lined up this month — Aarkariyaam, Varthamaanam and Aanum Pennum. Mammootty has The Priest and One coming up soon.
