Jake Gyllenhaal, Vanessa Kirby are set to star in upcoming survival thriller, Suddenly. The film will be helmed by Thomas Bidegain, who is known for writing films like Rust And Bone, A Prophet and Dheepan.

Suddenly is based on Isabelle Autissier's French novel, Soudain Seuls. Bidegain will be adapting the script that revolves around a couple who become stranded on an island in the South Atlantic and must fight for survival when their dream journey becomes a nightmare.

Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker will bankroll the project under their Nine Stories banner, alongside Alain Attal. The film will be co-produced by Artemis Productions and True North Productions.

Bidegain had earlier written Gyllenhaal's 2018 film, The Sisters Brothers.

Apart from Suddenly, Gyllenhaal will also be seen in Antoine Fuqua's The Guilty, and Michael Bay's Ambulance.
