After the Telangana government lifted lockdown curbs, a lot of film units are planning to return to sets to complete their pending works. SS Rajamouli's RRR, on Monday, became the first big-ticket film to resume its shooting post the 37-day lockdown. Ram Charan, who plays Alluri Sitarama Raju, has joined the sets to start the new schedule of the period action entertainer.

Aalim Hakim, the hairstylist of Ram Charan, took to social media to post a glimpse of the actor from the first day of filming. "Today In Hyderabad, Lockdown 2.0 is lifted and the movies have resumed their shoots. Starting my day with a Haircut for superstar Ram Charan for the movie #RRR directed by everyone’s favourite SS Rajamouli Sir (sic)," wrote Aalim Hakim.

Jr NTR, who plays the other lead, will be joining the sets on Tuesday, while Alia Bhatt, who is paired opposite Charan, is expected to return to work on July 1. Rajamouli is planning to shoot a few crucial portions including an action sequence on NTR and Charan in this schedule.

The shooting of RRR was suspended after the resurgence of Covid-19 and the team is now determined to wrap up the balance portions in this schedule.

Also starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles, RRR is a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Earlier this year, Rajamouli had announced that the film will release on October 13 during Dasara. However, the makers have decided to postpone it to April 2022 due to the pandemic.
