Maestro, starring Nithiin and Nabha Natesh, is heading for a direct digital release on the OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar. It was announced by the makers early this year that the film will land in theatres on June 11. However, the film would not be released as per the schedule due to the resurgence of Covid-19.

"The makers were apprehensive on how many would return to the theatres and have decided to release it through OTT platform. The discussions with the representatives of Disney+ Hotstar are underway and they will seal the deal by Wednesday," says a source close to the development.

According to reports, the film is set for a direct-to-digital premiere either in July or August. A remake of Hindi black comedy-thriller, Andhadhun (2018), the film will see Nithiin reprising the role of Ayushmann Khurrana, while Tamannaah Bhatia and Nabha Natesh are stepping into the shoes of Tabu and Radhika Apte respectively.

Maestro tells the story of a blind pianist, who unintentionally gets embroiled in the murder of a former actor. Produced by Sudhakar Reddy and Nikitha Reddy, the film has music by Saagar Mahathi.
