Filmmaker Nelson, who spoke in a Twitter space interaction organised by the celebrity management comany The Route, as a part of Vijay's birthday celebrations, was sharing his admiration for the actor ever since his childhood. Recalling his efforts to get first-day first-show tickers for Vijay's films he said, "We used to stand in long queues outside Albert Theatre. Mostly we end up getting pushed by the crowd behind us and manage to get tickets only for the weekday shows."

Nelson also shared that Poove Unakaga and Pokkiri are his most-favourite films of the star. "I can keep rewatching these films for his performance and screen presence. I also love Friends equally as it beautifully explored the comical side of Vijay sir."

The director who is helming Vijay in the upcoming Beast mentioned that he is unable to gauge the mindset of the actor, even after working with him for a schedule. "He always remains calm and conveys things in the subtlest manner. It is difficult to read what is running in his mind."

Apart from the filmmaker, actor Keerthy Suresh, Malavika Mohanan, composer Anirudh and Master director Lokesh Kanagaraj were part of the online interaction.
