The makers of the upcoming How I Met Your Mother spinoff series, How I Met Your Father, have reportedly roped in actor Chris Lowell. He'll co-star alongside lead actor and show producer Hilary Duff (of Lizzie McGuire and A Cinderella Story fame).

The show has Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker of This is Us fame as its creators, and original HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will supervise it as executive producers.

Lowell will play Jesse, a cynical, irritable Uber driver who doesn't think much of superficial love. He is said to live with a roommate named Tom. There's no word yet on who will play Tom. Duff is playing Sophie, the pair of Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor).

There is no official word about the release date of the series.
