Nithiin's much-anticipated mass entertainer Power Peta, also featuring his Rang De co-star Keerthy Suresh, was supposed to go on floors last year. However, a source close to the development revealed that the film has been dropped by the Check actor because he didn’t like the script written by its director Krishna Chaitanya.

"Nithiin was not convinced with the final draft of Power Peta as it bears similarities with another Telugu film, which is currently in production. Although the director tweaked the story, Nithiin is in no mood to take the risk. The actor believes that he wouldn't be able to do justice to the film because he doesn't feel good about the script. Hence the duo discussed the possibilities of the film and mutually agreed to put it on the back burner," says a source close to the development.

Meanwhile, Nithiin, who is currently shooting for the last leg of Maestro, has agreed to join hands with writer-turned-director Vakkantham Vamsi for an action entertainer. He is also committed to team up with editor SR Sekhar, who is set to take up directing responsibilities soon.
