Emily Watson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje to team up for period drama

Writer Talitha Stevenson will be making her directorial debut with the project

Actors Emily Watson and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje are set to team up for Late In Summer. Set in the WWII era, the film will explore the intricate romantic relationship between a white, middle-aged, farmer’s wife and a black American soldier.

Writer and journalist Talitha Stevenson will be making her directorial debut, based on her original screenplay, with Debbie Gray set to produce the film. Actor Timothy Spall will be serving as an executive producer.

The crew boasts of talent with Oscar-winners, Jenny Beavan and Dario Marianelli, having joined the project to design costumes and compose music, respectively.

Watson was recently seen in the psychological thriller series The Third Day, while Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje appeared in Moominvalley last year.
